A Dream Come True

For most of my life I have dreamed about visiting Europe, but I figured that it would be quite a while before I would see this dream come true. However, in 1994, I met a special friend from Bavaria at a chess tournament in Montana. Because of her, I found myself, in the Spring of 1995, cruising on a jet to Munich, Germany.
I spent five weeks in Bavaria and two weeks in Italy, and managed a couple of short trips to both Switzerland and Austria. Towards the end of my stay, my wonderful Bavarian friend wanted to help me fulfill the dream of visiting the place where Diemer lived and played and was laid to rest. So, during the first week of June 1995, we made the pilgrimage together to the little town of Fussbach.
